Kanland’s Turrey Carlson has a good memory.
In the previous season, the knights were excluded from Postsen by Marmian. This time, he had a chance to avenge that loss in the home court of cadets with a regional championship on the line.
Of course, Carlson fuel the damage from the previous winter.
“It reminds me of last year,” Carlson said. “He spoke a lot. It was found in my head. I am not losing in his court. We are cutting their nets this year. ,
The senior guard cut on Friday night, scoring 13 out of 21 points in the second half, as Kanland rallied with a shortage of nine points for a 58–50 win in the Class 3A Marmen regional finals.
This was Carlson’s first regional title of four -year Versity Career. Parker Violet added 16 points and 12 rebounds for Nights (25-5), who proceeded in a section in the semi-finals on Wednesday at 7 pm, hosting against Belvidere North (22–11), which is 69–54 winners.
Ivan Stum scored 14 points to pace Marmen (14–18). Caden Anderson added 11.
Carlson, who realizes his peers that he was seen in difficult conditions, came with determination for the second half. He made the first two baskets and later replaced the 3-point play.
This ended the third quarter and gave Kanland a 44–42 lead.
“I have been here many times,” Carlson said. “If I am going to my people, it is difficult to defeat us. We are more talented. We only played up to their level in the first half. We were ill with it. ,

Kanland coach Erni Columbe has seen Carlson rebelling several times throughout the year. He was not surprised that Carlson led the return of Friday.
“He is a winner,” said Columbe. “We have scored a very good run with him. His competition rubs on other people. He stepped up. When your leader is playing that barely and showing that he does anything to win, others will follow.
“We are blessed to find him as a leader.”
When the Marmian climbed Carlson in the fourth, it was actually a support that led to the winning basket. He prepared Brad Frank with 3:35 in the quarters for a 3-paper.

It gave the knights a lead of 47-46 and they never trapped again, ending at the end of 11-4.
“We have some new people who were not in these moments, so they had to do a little weather for the storm,” Columbe said. “We talked about just fighting them back and not being overwhelmed in the moment and trusting each other. We went to a good run. ,
The Marmian broadcast the speed of leaving for a good start on Friday before 47–43 in Burlington Central. Cadets led nine points in the first half.
The coach of Marmian Joe Pikarz said, “The first half that we thought it could be.” “We did some things, which gave us a chance to succeed. This was a really good start for the game. ,

Marmion graduated all the leading players of the last season’s sectional championship team, who surprised many people from outside the program how this version would look like for cadets.
“This team has crossed all expectations,” said Pikarz. “He heard from the beginning that everyone has gone since last season. You are not going to win any game. You are going to be bad.
“From the beginning he said,” Not so fast. We can also play. ,
Carlson, who recently set Caneland’s all -time scoring record, gets another chance to add that total on Wednesday.
Carlson said, “We just keep winning – keep walking with our good season.” “Our crowd is always crazy. This is going to be a great game. ,
