Teenage sister recalls trying to save 9-year-old brother as fire engulfed home

At the age of just 16, Hannah Miller has suffered a death experience, which left his parents fighting for his life and his 9-year-old brother died.

It is difficult to imagine what it will happen inside the mobile house during a deadly fire. Miller, who remembers being away from smoke, says that this is an experience that she will never forget.

“Till last night, I was a debris,” Miller told Wral News. “The first time I heard that my brother was dead, I laughed because it was a joke. there’s no way. He is also full of life. ,

Sadly, it was all real. At the age of just 9, Thomas Miller died in a fire, which burnt the family’s house on the dasher lane.

Miller says the fire started in the bedroom shared with his brother.

“I woke up for orange flames,” he said. “I woke up screaming him. Because the fire was mostly his bed. ,

He woke up his father. Then he grabbed his brother and turned to the bathroom.

“I got out of the bathroom because, what am I doing?” I am going to trap myself here. I am going to make this bathroom my coffin if I stay here, ”he said.

Miller and his brother left the bathroom and separated into the smoke -filled mobile house.

Her father asked her to crawl at the back door.

He excluded it.

His 9 -year -old brother did not.


She was told the news when she was in the hospital.

Miller says that his father blamed himself for not saving his brother’s life. She is trying to make her feel that it was a tragic accident.

“Don’t do this,” she says. “This is not your mistake. He did everything that he could do. My father, he was a superhero.”

It was a casual fire due to a space heater as his family tried to be warm in a cold night.

Now, Miller said that he hopes that God will fix his parents and catch his brother.

His mother and father are in critical condition at the UNC Burn Center in Chapel Hill.
