A student of McDog Middle School threatened a staff member on Monday, the school said.
The carboro police said a teenage petition was issued for the dangers of mass violence on an educational property.
Principal Chris Horn sent a message to employees and families about the incident.
“On Monday, a student made a comment in front of a staff member, which was interpreted as a threat against the school,” he said. “Our school has safety and will always be a priority for me and my team, and I want you to know that the administration has taken the matter very seriously, fully investigated and examined the appropriate results mentioned in the character, conduct and support of our CHCCS community.”
Talking with Wral News, the employee said that he was worried that the student pose a threat and he feels that there was no immediate violation of faith with the administration when the danger was on Monday morning.
The principal said that the school informed the law enforcement of the situation.
Principal Horn said, “Whatever we addressed yesterday, there were no weapons.”
