St. Charles East won seven wrestlers in the state on Thursday and proceeded in the Class 3A state quarter -finals at the champion’s state farm center.
In 113 pounds, Dome Munrato won the technical decline over Grant’s Vince Jasinsky. In 132, Ben Devino won a technical decline on Sandberg’s Brady Ritter. In 138, Tyler Guerra pinned Harsi’s Rodrigo Aro in 3:00. At 144, Jeden Colon pinned Dominic Coronado in Yorokville in 30 seconds. In 150, Gavin Konoli won the 3–2 decision on Sandberg’s Zac Ritter. In 165, Anthony Gutrez pinned West Arora’s Dane Serio in 53 seconds. In 175, Body Murray pinned RJ Samuels of Downers Grove South in 1:36.
Batavia and Geneva won their first match to two wrestlers. Ino Garcia of Batavia pinned Aiden Villar of Planfield East in 120 pounds in 1:59. Aden of Batavia pinned Andrew Haritos of Glenbrook South in 144 in 1:49. In 157 pounds, Pitan Margen of Geneva pinned Christopher Burn of Neparville Central in 48 seconds. In 215 pounds, Petit of Geneva pinned Caden Watson of Buffalo Grove in 4:21.
Three Marmian wrestlers proceeded in class 3A quarter -finals.
At the age of 113, Nicolas Garcia won the 12–1 decision on the Shane Stream of Lincoln-Vay West. In 138, the Zach Stewart Jolit won the technical decline at the Ilays Gonzalaz of Catholic. In 144, Ashton Hobson won the 8–1 decision on Jake Hanson of Harsi.
