If my mathematics is correct (and it was rarely growing up), then I participated in documenting 53 basketball games this year. On Friday night, with the fall of our last Sauk Valley-Aaria team, the long season has reached a conclusion for our local players.
There are still some story lines that may be interested in fans and teams in the region. Lincoln Girls Basketball Team that excludes Dixon Duchess in Supersensional, will later be playing for the title to write. The team of Petonica boys, who sent both Fulton and Eastland, gave a chance to play in the state tournament on Monday against Arora Christian.
Here are some things that revolve around my brain because the weather ends: the highest highest season is kept together. The team bestowed the local rival Sterling and Boylan for the regional title through the playoffs and then going to Sexmore to defeat the domestic team there and defeated Kanland for the sectional. The team went to the toe with Lincoln for the first quarter, but the undefeated rails were still very high. I definitely think that the deep playoff experience interrupted the Dixen squad slightly.
With every high, I think one should be low. The way Sterling boys were playing throughout the season, I was sure that I was traveling to Champcash for the state final. The team was excluded by Lasel-Paru only in the regional final. The warriors were still jumping and forced the most exciting team to see the whole year.
What is well (I think) do not find me exciting in something. I suspect that I am going to disagree criminally, but, the three-point shot bored me. I would have also suggested at one time that it ruins basketball, but the more I studied it, what it waste is Basketball photography. Players fighting under the basket or arriving for lane or rebound are definitely the most exciting pictures that can bring back. There is no three-point jump shot. These players are so good in that shot nowadays that there is very low risk vs. reward.
Let’s read a more gate-off-my lawn. I have not seen it enough locally, but I think student fans often taunt more for other teams and fans than to convince their own players. It just makes contempt and likes good vibe of sportsmanship. I get it, school proud and all.
Let’s end on a pair of high notes. first and foremost. Dixon Senior Owen Wintors had beautifully rendered the national anthem in the Girls State Basketball Tournament and a credit to the community. Second and at least, there was a case of Oberweis ice cream sandwich in the press room in Cefcu Arena in general. If anything is introduced to us, it is usually something healthy like a banana or apple and who wants to have breakfast on it.
