Record homicides in 2023, but Fayetteville reports 10% drop in crime overall

According to the Fieteville Police Department, compared to 2022, there was a 10% decline in overall crime in 2023.

Chief Cemberley Braden reported that a 10% decline in overall crime is a continuation of seven years of trend in total crimes across the city. An exception to a seven -year decline in crime is increased in 2023

Police also shared the following figures:

  • Total arrests in Fayetville have increased by 32%
  • Traffic stopped for fast and careless driving in 2023 and negligent driving increased by 23%

Fayetteville broke her record for the number of homosexuals in 2023 – 49. According to Braden, there were 44 homosexuals in Fayetville in 2022 and 48 housewives in Fayetville in 2021.

“Really, when I have a murder, the only thing we can do is to try out and solve the best as we can – to check it completely and really to identify that what the murder has really committed,” Braden said.

In January, Braden told Wral News that his department is doing everything to reduce violence.

“We try our best to reduce,” Braden said. “If we see something happening, we feel what we are doing, put the authorities in an area where we can give the best answer to the thing we see on live.”

Despite the decline in overall crime, Fietville City Councilman Mario Benaventia for a long time, a critic of the Fietville Police Department told Wral News that he was not affected by the numbers.

“I see that the citizens of this city are trying to make criminalization and inhuman which are the weakest and require the most support,” Bennavant said. “The city is really trying to lock them.”

However, Braden told Wral News that his department is particularly focused on community outreach and makes young people aware of the results of criminal activity.

The Fietville Police Department has taken initiative to reach the community, such as the program to educate children about gun violence and to help the trust leaders reach the public with hand participation.

Other programs such as preventing bleed train volunteers to help in emergency situations.

Braden said, “The Stop the Bleed event was a partnership with other non-profit institutions within the fire department, hospital and area to show that the initial 911 prefers to undergo a shooting incident.”
