Peoria Richwoods tops Layshawn Scott, Thornton

Most of the attention was attracted in this season with four transfer in the early lineup of Thornton, it was easy to ignore the Longtime Wildcat, Leshen Scott among a talented bunch.

But Senior Forward, who played all four years in Thornton, emerged as a big danger in a regular season and especially during the playoffs.

“No one really knows me,” said Scott. “I know what I can do and I know what I am able to do. I came out, no one knew who I was, and it gave me additional boost like, ‘Oh, I am going to know who I am.’

“I hit open shots. I reversed I am a winning player. ,

Scott tried his best to win Wildcats on Monday night, scored eight points and grab five rebounds. But Poreia Richwoods in Thorrton Class 3A Ottawa Supersensuctional fell to 58-52 losses.

Mayoh Swanasi led Thornon (29–5) with 13 points. Illinois recruitment Morez Johnson scored 12 points, consisting of 10 in the fourth quarter, and dragged 11 rebounds down. Chase Abraham added 11 points, while Isaiah Green pasted six points and six assistance.

The recruitment of Rutgers ended with 32 points and 13 rebounds for Lathan Somarville Pieria Richwoods (29–4).

In the battle of future Big Ten elders, Somarville made Johnson the best for almost the whole night.

Somarville attracted two fouls in the first quarter on Johnson, sent to the bench for the entire second quarter.

“This was our game plan,” said Pireoria Richwoods coach William Smith. “We wanted to go inside Lathan. We know that Morese likes to play flat, he does not like to guard the ball screen and he likes to make himself vocal in the fourth quarter, so we wanted to get him out quickly. ,

Thornton tightened without his star and placed it on a 24-24.

For a team that has called himself a one-man show, which felt like a moment of verification.

“Many people said that but we showed that it is not just to him,” Scott said about Johnson. “Sitting with him in that whole quarter, we showed that we can fight with anyone.”

Regarding Scott, the roads said, “It is probably the pride of any child I am probably.” “In the year, he was not slated to play so much. You see him and you don’t think he can play.

“He gets out of there and struggles with his tail. It is a will how grit and difficult it is. I love that child. I will take that child to war on any day. Very good child. ,

Thornton won its first sectional championship since 2009. One does not have a more reason to be proud of Scott, a starter that has always been a wildcat.

Scott said, “To see all the fans coming out and root us, come to all our sports, even traveling long distances,” Skott said. “They are supporting us in this journey.

“This has been a great experience.”
