Miami Garden, Fla. ,

On Saturday morning, cyclists chose to ride up to 99 miles or just walk a 5k for charity.

The 14th annual charity bike ride and 5K increased close to $ 10 million for cancer research.

Pro Football Hall of Fammer Dan Marino started this year’s celebration bright and quickly.

“Let’s have some fun. Let’s roll!” He said.

Some better traveling athletes said that this is a special day of the year.

“It is incredible, man, especially this year. I think there are lots of people from all different races, backgrounds, groups, ”said Miami Dolphin Defense End Jelen Philips. “It is incredible to see how this incident brings everyone together.”

7news is a proud sponsor of DCC. WSVN General Manager, Paul Magnes, 7Sports’ Josh Moser and more than 5,000 others, as he pedal for a purpose.

It was a very meaningful event for people left from cancer and for those who are still receiving treatment.

“Even though I was discouraged, I here to honor my 5K in honor, in honor of my mother, who is currently in a fight, but winning,” said the survival of cancer. “I mean, it is just nice to know that with Christ, all things are possible. I just feel grateful to be here.”

The DCC mantra is “a team, a fight”. Plans for the 15th annual program next year are already running.

DCC Executive Director Xavier Sanchez said, “So the community comes today with this ‘one team, one fight’ mission to fund cancer research.”

The program for local cancer research has increased by more than $ 64 million since it started in 2010.
