‘Our hearts are breaking’: Lauderdale-By-The-Sea community pays tribute to Indiana girl who died after being trapped in the sand – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

Lauderdel-by–C-C, Fla. ,

Beachgoers could not say for more beautiful on Friday night.

There were clear sky, music and dances, but the week was different for the city, and was accepted by Mayor Chris Vincent.

“Before we start, I would like to lead all of us in a moment of silence in memory of the 7-year-old slone matingly,” he said.

On Tuesday afternoon, an avalanche of the beach sand buried Slone and his brother, 9 -year -old Madox, as dozens of beaches worked to free children.

Slone, who was leaving from Indiana with his family, did not survive. Madox fixed it.

The people present in the incident were stored with the magnitude of the tragedy.

“We talk about it all the time. We have got a young niece at that age; I can’t imagine, ”said local resident Marylou Sandry.

“Just the whole tragedy. I just feel very bad for that family, ”said Mami Rearden. Who is going through Massachusetts?

“I know the Hindite is 20/20. We can all say what they should have done differently, ”Betsi an acra said, who is going from Wisconsin.

However, some experts say that a lifeguard may be in a difference.

The posted signals are not a lifeguard at the beach stretch where the accident occurred, and they are floating at their risk.

Tom Gill, vice president of the United States Life serving Association, said that a lifeguard would have stopped anyone to dig a hole.

“The heart broke for this family, and even more heart broke whether we will have lifeguards there, can they stop this tragedy? I would say 100% yes, “he said.

“We are not the only beaches that do not currently have a lifeguard, but this is something we are seeing,” Vincent said. “Anytime you take such things with public safety, you are increasing your liability, and you have to weight all points and all factors on it.”

“I knew that there were no private beaches by resorts, or more private beaches [have lifeguards]But I assumed that public beaches did, “Gwen Martin said, who is coming from Wisconsin.

“Where does the money go on parking, where does we go?” Mike Acker said, who is leaving Wisconsin.

But for a Somaras night, Vincent said, this community hit their views towards the little girl who came to South Florida on leave, and the family that had to return home without her.

“It was a tragic accident, and it happened here on our beaches, something that has never happened before,” said the mayor. “Anyone feels that we are feeling. Our hearts are breaking. ,

Discussion of Loderdale-by-C-C-C officials on the possibility on lifeguard has been scheduled for Tuesday. The Commissioners are also going to talk about the possibility of a permanent monument, which is dedicated to the slonic matingly.
