Officer shot patrolling in Humboldt Park


Officials said a Chicago police officer was shot at Hambolt Park on Sunday morning.

Two officials were on patrolling at 3800 blocks of West August Bulleward at around 2:02 pm, when people started shooting in a group of men walking on the road.


A bullet hit his marked squad car window. One officer was shot in his bulletproof vest, and the other was injured by broken glass. According to police, they did not return the fire.

An 18 -year -old man was later discovered with a gun bullet wound and rushed to a Strawger Hospital in critical condition.

Police said the officers were taken to a hospital in an area and listed in good condition.

No arrests have been made.
