Tempe, Ariz. – It remains to be seen whether Miguel Sano has a good baseball, but he made a good impact after walking at the door in Angels Spring Training.
Visa issues were delayed in the Republic of Dominican and Sano, who arrived on Sunday, said that he lost 58 pounds in the last year.
“He looks real,” said manager Ron Washington. “And he is in a great fame of the mind.”
However, Washington admitted that Sano on the field is “a little thick,” and then he jokingly said “we would just beat him in shape.”
The 30 -year -old Sano killed at least 25 homes in four large league season with Minnesota twins, including 30 in 2021. In 2022, he hit and released .083. Then he dealt with left knee issues, which was one of the reasons he decided to bring them to better shape.
“It was very important to me,” Sano said through an interpreter. “I feel better and light, and this will help me to perform better on the field.”
The angels signed a minor league deal to Sano, which he looked in a Winter ball, and he was working in the team’s premises in the Dominican Republic until he was able to move to Arizona.
There is a route for him to create a large league roster. A right -arm hitter, Sano could play third and first and he could also be DH. If no one is hurt, angels have an informed spot for tombs. A injury will clearly open another place.
“You need stories to be a good team,” said General Manager Perry Minassian. “You need some people who are not talked about a ton. Or young players who develop at a certain time. (Sano) is what we really like to go to Offshine until he proves that he is healthy. He played in Winter Ball and played well, so we thought we should take a shot on him. ,
Sano was in lineup at DH for Angels Split-Squad game against Cincinnati Reds on Sunday.

Mejia released
Angels released experienced catcher Francisco Mejia, which was just a stunning step after a Cactus League game.
Minassian said that Mejia’s goal was to exclude the large league team, and Angels felt that they were unlikely to be on the roster.
“He wants to live in the big league,” said Minassian. “He has been in a big league for a long time. As the present is present, this team would be very difficult to make, which was their goal. ,
The 28 -year -old Mejia has played 355 games in Major in some parts of seven years, including 50 games with Tampa Bay rays in the previous season.
Logan O’Hope and Matt This Major League are in line to have two catchers on the roster, and Angels are also in the form of Chad Walch, Kaleb Hamilton and Zach Humphs.
Minasian reported that the angels signed Mejia quickly, before they had re -signed Valach and when they had more questions about Humphs and Hamilton. Humphrees were injured in the previous season.
Although the Mejia was behind the plate when Angels conceded five runs in the eighth innings on Saturday, Minashian and Washington said the decision was not related to Mejia’s performance. The three pitches he handled, he released five walks.

After the left-hander Nick Jones, after running the first batsman to top the ninth innings on Saturday, Washington went to the mound to talk to the 25-year-old. He said that it was asking Jones to throw the strike. Jones settled and survived the innings without any run.
While many managers go to the mound only when they are making a pitching change, and they leave other trips for the pitching coach, Washington said he himself is not shy to travel something.
Teams are now allowed only four mound visit per game, except for pitching changes. This is less than last year, but it will not leave Washington.
“For a mechanical and pitching thing, you will see the pitching coach,” Washington said. “When I am ready to go into your head, you will see me. I am a psychologist. When I go there, I assure them that they can descend from this area. … When I have received a message to distribute, I am going to distribute it. that’s who I am. I am not worried about (number of mounds). ,

Infielder Luis Rangifo (left hamstring tightness) said he would be able to play “really soon”. ,
Infielder Michael Stephenic (left quad strain) was uncertain of a timetable for his return. Stephnik was hurt during Saturday’s game. He said on Sunday that he felt better. “I’m just disappointed,” he said. “You work very hard in all the season to get ready for it, and for the first time it just caught me a little bit. I will be fine and will come back as soon as possible. ,
Right -handed Jose Sisnrow arrived at the camp on Sunday after being delayed by visa issues in the Republic of Dominican. Sisnrows were working at the Angels Complex in Dominican, so he said he was ready to leave. He was scheduled to practice live batting on Sunday.
