The rates were dramatically low for some of the weakest students of the state. For disabled students this rate was 59.6%, 44%for students in spinach care, and 58.3%for homeless students.
Rice admitted that more work should be done to address the gap.
Lanceing district ‘highly affected’
Lanceing school has been an important target improvement in graduation rates in the district, and seems to pay for work to increase numbers. The graduation rate for 2023 was 76.37%, an increase of 14 percent from 2021, when the rate was 62.10. The rate of 2023 is the highest which the district has ever seen, Superintendent Ben Schuldiner said.
“We are greatly impressed by the hard work and dedication of our teachers, our students and our families,” said Shuldiner.
He said that the initiatives that have improved, he said, there is a recruitment of graduate experts at the high school and district level. Their goal is to ensure that every student is graduated.
“They are checking with students every day, making sure they are coming to school and passing classes. They are doing everything they can ensure that students are getting the support they need, ”said Shuldiner.
This may mean that they have tuition, subsequent school help, the mathematics class required for graduation, or a roof on their head. ,
Many other districts also saw benefits. In Ypsilanti community schools, the rate of four years was 78.33% in 2022 as compared to 73.79%. In 2019, this rate was 68.53%.
Superintendent Alina Zatery-Ross said that the district has improved its rate due to benefits in alternative high schools of the districts.
Students in these high schools were usually behind in course credit.
“The team actually focused on acceleration during academic tuition, after school and grizzly learning camps last year,” said Zatery-Ross. “And we really saw what is happening in those two differences and classes, really a difference.”
The summer camp of the district includes a college tour, linking students from community resources and project-based learning.
What were the rates in many other Michigan districts here:
- Detroit Public School Community District, a four -year graduate rate was 74.26% in 2022 compared to 71.06%. The district had a rate of 75.84% in 2019.
- The four -year rate of N.ar public schools was 90.57%, which is 89.23% in 2022 and slightly above 89.46% in 2019.
- The four -year rate of Grand Rapids public schools was 82.39% in 2023, 80.53% in 2022 and 76.2% in 2019.
The rate of 2023 of Travers City Area Public Schools was lower than the previous year. The four -year graduation rate was 84.04% in 2023, 86.47% in 2022 and below 84.97% in 2019. The district had a rate of 90.51% in 2020.
Superintendent John Vanavaganar said that the rate of four years is misleading as there are two high schools in the district where some students are nominated in the initial middle college and graduated with both a diploma and an associate degree or technical certificate in five years.
