Marissa Pleasant sparks Marquette in state final

Indianapolis – Markvate Freshman Marisa Placent’s warm -up was “regular” before the Class 1A State Championship game on Saturday.

But once the game started, the 5 -foot -7 guard performed anything.

“The shot was open, so I took the first,” said the point. “Then I started dropping them down, so I kept going.”

The placenta hit three 3-pointers in less than two minutes, inspired Blazers to lead a 9–2 lead against Lansville at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

“I only heard the crowd, and it gave me confidence,” she said.

The first quarter ended a pleasant with 13 points, including all 11 of the markwate, but it was not enough as Eagles won 51-43.

“It’s not surprising for any of us,” said Markwate coach Katie Koligin. “This is what the MP does. This is a big lift for us. It settled a lot of veins in the entire board to come out from here and start in this way. We did not really go back to him, which is a bit disappointing for a long time. We have to improve the ball a bit and find a shooter when heated. When someone goes 3 for 3 – do you ever see ‘NBA Jam’? I like, ‘Heat check, heat check, give him a ball.’ This is disappointing. We have to find our shooters a little more.

“It was a cat for a new person. I am not sure there is another freshman who gets 3 for 3 to start the state final game. The kind of player he is. He is confident. “

Kolagon said he hopes that this experience will serve as an inspiration for blazers.

“They practice in practice or in practice the plays that are monotonous and they are repeated and they think they are not important, such games when you remember that they are that they are,” the collagin said. “These are small things. We have 24 turnover. We have better bowlenders than this. This should never happen. So perhaps a ballhandling drill, we will focus a little more. Or making pastes – we remember some easy people quickly. They are focus points.

“We are young. We all talked about Postsen long, even though we are young, we are not talking about the next year or are coming back. But it will do a little sting. I am hoping that when those workouts start in May – March, April, May – Whenever we roll again, we remember the moment and when we want a blue, we are ready to bring it. It is known to be here that we have to be a part of the whole year.
