Lawrence rally, march push for ‘Hands off Rafah’ – The Lawrence Times

More than 100 community members gathered at Lawrence on Saturday afternoon, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Many appearances indicated and wore Kefiehss during the rally at South Park, followed by the global “shut down for Palestine” as part of the movement, marched after 1 March of Massachusetts Street.

“We are here to honor their sacrifice for Aaron,” an organizer told those in appearance, referring to Aaron Bushnel, a person who died after setting himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in Washington earlier this week.

“Gaza must have food and water,” the group chanting during March.

Another organizer said that the group was not asking anything controversial.

“At least you can do as a human, standing against the massacre,” the second organizer said. “If this was happening to the Jewish people, I will stand against injustice here.”
