Palm Beach Garden, Fla. , Now the woman who was a hit is speaking about the horrific decline.
Angie Lewis said that she was with a friend when she stayed at the traffic light, around 10 pm on Thursday night.
“I can’t even tell you what happened. I could not find out at that moment what was happening,” he said. “Suddenly, my roof shook the truck, behind the truck.
Lewis said the effect looked like an explosion.
“I thought maybe a bomb had shut down, or someone entered the closed cars,” he said, “and then I thought,” Maybe the bridge collapsed. “
Lewis said that he then looked at the Mercedes-Benz and realized that it had fallen directly from the overpass over it.
Palm Beach Garden Police said the car was operated by a teenager who was trying to move away from the authorities.
Investigators said the young motor driver took the curve very fast and fell on the side of Lewis GMC Yukon Denali.
“It was anarchy. There were entire parts on the road. All four tires had Mercedes in the middle of the road,” said Lewis. “It was like a film, a scene out of a film, but I was living it.”
Somehow, no one was injured.
Lewis said that the back of the roof of the truck fell on the back seats.
No one was sitting there at that time, but Lewis said that this is the place where her young daughters always sit when they are with her.
“It comes in waves. I think about it, I cry, because it is his seat that was demolished, and she was there, she could not be here now,” she said.
Lewis described herself as lucky – lucky her girls were not in the vehicle, lucky that she was not standing a few feet behind, and lucky that she is still alive.
“When I wonder what could happen. I didn’t sleep at all last night – my heart was running, I could not breathe – but we are here,” he said.
The police have not specified why they were trying to stop Mercedes, just saying that it was a traffic violation. They have caught the driver.
