High school students killed in Orange County crash


Two high school students died on Thursday night in an accident in Orange County.

According to the State Highway Petrol, Trupers responded to an accident on Oak Grove Church Road near Chipmank Lane around 9:30 pm.

Officials said a Subaru Oak Grove was traveling south on the Church road, when he went on the right road, entered the road again, crossed the center line, traveled from the road to the left and attacked a tree, caught fire.

Two people died inside the car, identified as students at South -East Alamans High School.

Alamance-Burlington school system released the following statements:

“We send our love and support to their families, friends and their employees because they process this heart news. Additional Assistant Employees are in our schools to assist students and employees as per the requirement of this week. ,

The accident is under investigation, including losing control of the driver.

The Oak Grove Church Road was closed for about three hours during the investigation.

Trupers approved the scene at 12:12 pm
