Harmoni Montgomery Murder Trial is now in the hands of Defense. The prosecution on Tuesday rested its case after nine days of testimony.

Raksha tried unsuccessfully on Tuesday to dismiss three allegations against Adam Montgomery. They argue on the major witness of the state, Adam’s wife Kayla Montgomery, is not reliable.
The ball is now in the defense court. It is not clear whether the defense lawyers will present their case on Wednesday or go ahead to close the arguments directly. The judge has indicated that the jury may find the case by the end of the week.

In addition, on Wednesday, the jury heard from a woman, who said that Adam Montgomery told her that he hates harmony with the “right of her origin” because she reminded her of her mother.
Rebecca Menus, who is in jail for a parole violation, testified that Adam Montgomery told him in the summer of 2021 that he had been trying to see harmony since 2019, when he left her to live with her mother as she said she said she was “on the purpose”.
Even though Adam Montgomery was given legal custody of the girl before disappearance, Menus testified that she told her that Harmoni’s mother would not allow her to meet her.
Officials believe that Montgomery killed the girl on December 7, 2019, but was not reported to be missing until about two years. Hormani’s body is not found.
Adam Montgomery requested not to be guilty of killing a second degree in 2022 and announced in a court in an unnecessary case last year that he did not kill his daughter and loved her unconditionally. As soon as his case was going on in Manchester on 7 February, the defense lawyers admitted that he is guilty of two low allegations that he faces: to prove the evidence wrong and misuse a corpse. But he said that he did not kill harmony, and instead suggested that he actually died on 6 December with his stepmother Kayla Montgomery.
Adam Montgomery, who is serving a 30 -year jail sentence for an unrelated gun sentence, is not participating in his trial.
Menus, who described Adam Montgomery as his best friend at one point, also testified about an incident, which says that she takes harmony for her mother. He said that he told him that he “backhand” his daughter after putting his daughter on his younger brother’s lips and nose. In earlier testimony, Adam Montgomery’s uncle testified that he saw harmony with a black eye at the family’s house in 2019 and Adam told him that he “cursed” around the house after putting her hand on her brother around the house.
During the cross-examination, Menus was asked about his criminal records from 2014 to 2019, including theft and fraud. He is scheduled for parole hearing in April, but also faces several pending allegations.
“I am a criminal. I have no problem telling you, “Menus testified. She also said that she was in the treatment of drug abuse when she was asked to remember the presence of the court for her cases.
The defense lawyers also suggested that Menus was trying to improve his legal status by testimony. He refused to make any promises about his pending allegations in exchange for his testimony.
In the murder case of Adam Montgomery, the prosecution rested their case after playing a recording, saying the defendant can be heard saying that investigators “wasted their time” in the leads sent by walnut jobs. ,

Adam Montgomery and Crystal Sori, Harmani’s mother, were not in a relationship when Harmani was born in 2014. The child lived with foster families and his mother. Crystal Sori lost Harmony’s custody in 2018, and Adam Montgomery was honored in custody in February 2019. Sore testified that he had last seen his daughter during a facetime call around the Easter of that year.
Kayla Montgomery has been a star witness against her husband. She is serving a 18 -month prison sentence after being convicted for lying during the Grand Jury testimony, where she was last seen. He was not given immune, but admitted the defense lawyers that he did not face any more results for police or prosecutors in his various statements.
Kayla Montgomery testified that her husband repeatedly punched harmony in her head as the girl had wet herself. He said that their family, including two young sons of the couple, were evicted and were living in a car at that time. According to Kayla, Adam punched harmony in several stop lights as he moved from the Methadone Clinic to a fast food restaurant on the morning of December 7, 2019.
She also testified about handing over food to the children without checking harmony, the latter discovery that the girl had died, and in all places she said that her husband hid the body, including a roof vent in a homeless shelter and a walk-in freezer at her husband’s workplace. Kayla Montgomery testified that she did not come forward about Harmony’s death as she was afraid of her husband.
