One driver is dead and another driver was injured in a four-vehicle accident at Elmharst on Thursday evening.
Elmharst officials said the accident occurred between Argel and Mitchell Avenues on St. Charles Road at around 7 pm.
Officials said a 20 -year -old Itaska man was killed in an accident to run an infinity sedan when he hit a Kura sedan and hit the head with Toyota Minivan. The debris also killed a Lexus SUV by the accident.
The Itaska man was declared dead on the spot, while the driver of the Toyota was taken to a hospital with injuries, which was not considered a threat to life. Two other drivers were deserted.
Initial investigation indicates that the driver of the infinity was involved in the confrontation and running away from the scene. Police said the driver of the second vehicle started chasing the infinity.
Officials said the Infinity driver turned to the north on Route 83 from Okbrook Terrace before turning on St. Charles Road on the east side. Police said Infinity driver was intensifying at the time of the accident when he tried to pass Ekura, he also moved towards the east and collided with Toyota towards the west.
Police officials said they are investigating whether the intoxicated accident can be “contributed”. The identification of the Infinity driver is stopped until family members are informed. The crash remains under investigation.
