Former rape George Santos on Saturday filed a civic case against Jimmy Kimmel, accusing the late night television host of requesting a cameo video from the former legalist and then using fake names to misuse his show.
Santos sued Kimmel for copyright violations, fraud, contract violations and unjust enrichment. According to NBC News, he is demanding at least $ 750,000 losses.
Santos said in a trial filed in the US district court for the southern district of New York that Kimmel presented at least 14 requests for a clip on site cameo, where celebrities sell small individual video messages.
Kimmel offered “Funi Naam and Stories”, says the lawsuit, and “fake request … from Kimmel’s fake user profiles made as part of the fraud” sent from the profile. The lawsuit was first reported by New York Post.
It states that Kimmel has “chosen a personal use license for all cameo videos, which was with the intention of broadcasting cameo videos on national television and commercially exploiting such a license.”
Representatives of Kimmel did not immediately respond to the request of the comment on Saturday. NBC News also reached ABC and Disney, both nominated as defendants for comments.
The lawsuit says that Kimmel “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Started using the video on. In December, stating his audience that Santos had to make a new gig video on cameo for “$ 400” and Kimmel could not resist him to send him “ridiculous request”. Some videos were played during a section, titled “said Will Santos?”
Members of the House reacted to the expulsion of former rape George Santos.
During the show’s 11 December episode, Kimmel joked for the suit by Santos, according to the trial.
“Can you imagine if I file a case by George Santos for a fraud? I mean how good it would be? It would be like a dream come true,” Kimmel said according to the suit. “So since I started buying her videos, their rates were a piece of $ 500. They should thank me for buying these videos.”
Kimmel then played two more videos, says the suit.
A Santos’ lawyer sent a conflict-letter to Kimmel to Kimmel on 12 December and demanded that the video joined the show from YouTube and Tiktok accounts.
