Okaloosa County, Fla. (WSVN) – A Florida deputy has resigned as he has shown the body camera footage at the moment he had mistakenly admitted that a suspect had opened the fee.
The incident occurred on November 12, 2023, when the depot of Oklosa County Sheriff’s office responded to disturbance call. He received a call related to Markis Jackson, who was accused of returning his girlfriend’s car and refusing to send a threatening text message.
The footage captured Jackson’s early discovery and custody, Hernandez discovered her again.
Bodycam footage shows deputy Jesse Hernandez moving towards his patrol car, when an acorn falls on the roof. A shocking hernandez falls and shouts because he accidentally thought he was under fire.
“I’m a hit!, I’m a hit!” He shouted at the footage.
Hernandez was then seen shooting behind his patrol car. An internal investigation later confirmed that he was not killed and Jackson did not fire any weapon.
The investigation report suggested that sound Hernandez was likely to kill the roof of his car for gunshots.
Sheriff Eric Aden, to comment due to a possible litigation, to release a video statement, where he expressed the department’s commitment to prevent such incidents in the future.
He said, “We are actually using this particular case as a potential for the rest of our employees, which we need to look out to ensure that we ever put someone’s life again in danger.”
There was no untoward during the incident.
After internal investigation, Hernandez resigned with force in December that the use of hernandez force was not purposefully.
