Globalfoundries have planned to invest millions of dollars at its Essex Junction Plant over the next several years, operating $ 1.5 billion that the Biden administration honored the company on Monday.

Appreciating the announcement, in a statement, American Sen Burney Sanders (I-VT) office stated that about 85 percent of phones use a Globalfoundries chip.
The demand for chips increased during the Covid-19 epidemic as the sale of smartphones and other products. Globalfoundries said in a statement, “The new FAB of GF will be specificly deployed to occupy the feature-rich, required chip segment, which is expected to represent more than 60 percent of the semocard market.”
The company is also preparing to upgrade and expand its capacity to its Essex junction fabrication facility. The company has stated that the plant is expected to manufacture the next generation of Gallium Nitride (GAN) semiconductor for use in electric vehicles, power grids, data centers, 5G and 6G smartphones and other important technologies. GAN semiconductor is an emerging material in manufacturing.

In the next decade, Globalfoundry said it plans to invest more than $ 12 billion in its New York and Warmont plants through public-private partnership.
