See, I swear that I am not trying to convince anyone to extend my dry January, but yes, this is another album about getting a calm and personal development between other subjects. There is a lot of recovery in reviews this week.
Django Koenig, a native of the plainfield, was written and recorded as Django Solo to its latest LP during the early days of the epidemic. The coainig came out of isolation with Chhaya Worka, which was recorded by the folk album which is equally filled with sympathy and frustration.
The manner of “the world is” was written about Ben Bergstein, the founder of the North and Studio in Burlington, who convicted allegations of sexual harassment in 2022 for allegations of lewd and erotic conduct in 2022. Coonig also taps into his anger at the death of George Floid, a black miniPolis man killed by a white police officer in 2020, singing, “This is the world” hate and resigns.
Shadow work is dedicated to many friends who died recently. “Carrie on (a song for Kerry Monahan)” finds coaining in full mastery mode, prevents a mourning progress on his guitar before accepting, “Sometimes, it is difficult / sometimes it is difficult to ‘cos you you gone.”
