With 45 seconds left in the first overtime, Dean was buried three-pointers in front of his bench and fouled in the drama. The resulting free throw tied the game at 61 and forced another overtime period.
Both teams traded the protective stop for the first three minutes of the second overtime, Dean broke the deadlock with another triple to give Central a lead that they would not abandon.
“She is our aggressive spark,” said the wheeling Central Catholic head coach Mail Stephens. “If we need a bucket, we feel great about bringing it into the game. Even the bus bench is coming out of the cold, the child can shoot it. We have a lot of confidence in him. ,
Central (16–5) scored the last nine points in the first quarter and took a 17–9 lead. Marun Nights took a 33-28 lead in the locker room in Haftime. Williamstown (19–3) raised its level of sports level in the third quarter, score at 46 in the evening.
“I thought in the third quarter, we had some poor assets at both ends. We left some aggressive rebels and we gave them additional opportunities. We did not take great shots at the aggressive end, ”Stephens said.
“Once we were lucky to avoid regulation and it came into overtime, I originally told them that this is a four -minute game and we got these four minutes to win. It took us an additional four minutes, but the children fought. ,
Max Oleges led Maroon Nights with 20 points. Quinton Berlensky and Jeremy Ratcliffe scored every 13 points and Troy Anthony added a dozen.
Jayden Bryant led Yeljacket with 26 points. Parker Shram scored 14 and Cruise aided 10 runs.
Both Central and Williastown have earned top seeds in their area I sectional tournaments.
“He will be a state tournament team,” Stephens said about Williastown. “I felt that we have great importance on this game whether you are going to make it for Charleston or not, but if you are lucky to make it Charleston, this game holds a lot of weight as far as seeding goes.”
