It comes at a time when Massachusetts are filled with shelter.
La Colaborative – or colleague, in English – is expected to open a one -day shelter starting on Tuesday, providing a variety of services to 200 people per day.
“We want to ensure that they have a safe, welcome and inclusive place to reach the services and stay inside the frigid cold winter temperature.”
This day will provide shelter hot food and clothes. It will welcome anyone who experiences homeless – in particular, families who are living in shelter overnight in Cambridge, where they should leave every morning, so it can be used as Middlesex County Registry of Deeds Office.
“The center is going to provide access to basic requirements, emergency housing services, economic mobility services,” Tran said. “We will provide shuttle transport to all families from Cambridge.”

The day shelter will be open from 9 am to 5 pm on Monday to Friday, it is expected to run by the end of June.
