Aunt reflects on using CPR to save 5-month-old nephew 10 years ago – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

Miami (WSVN) – a series of photographs capturing a woman’s determination to save her nephew.

That day, the camera angered her, but 10 years later, she is grateful to the photos and the powerful message sent by her.

“Now in retrospect, I can appreciate the value of the moment he was able to catch because it brought so much awareness for the importance of CPR, more especially, the infant CPR,” Pamela Russo said that who saved his nephew.

Photos were taken on 20 February 2014. Russo came out of his vehicle on State Road 836 with his nephew in his arms who were not breathing.

“I sat on my knees and started and I turned and took pictures,” he said.

Miami Herald Photographer, Al Diaz, were one of the nice soremis who flagged off help and then captured images.


Since Russo knew CPR, that 5 -month -old child is now a healthy 10 -year -old boy.

“He is a big personality, very smart,” he said,

The boy’s mother and aunt said that she is a special young man who has a bright future that would include CPR learning.

“It would be good to know this, so are you going to learn? Yah ”

“My advice, which is not for anyone, don’t learn,” he said. “This is a minimum investment investment and it is something that saves a loved one, in this case, my nephew.”
