Zoo officials said a crocodile at a zoo in Omaha, Nebraska required an emergency process at the end of last week, to remove dozens of coins from its stomach, the zoo officials said.
According to Henry Dorly Zoo and Aquarium, a total of 70 metal coins were found inside the 36 -year -old crocodile thibodox.
The vet Christina Plog said in a zoo statement, “A plastic pipe was placed to protect her mouth and the equipment used to reach the coins was safely passed, such as a camera that helped us direct the recovery of these items.”
The coins were found on the animal during a regular examination. All were successfully removed.
Plog believes that coins were thrown into animal habitat by visitors.
“The guests should not throw coins in any of the water bodies in the zoo,” the convenience said in a statement.
Rare type of crocodile
The famous zoo consists of 10 American crocodiles, and thibodox is a rare lucistic goor, with translucent white skin and deep blue eyes according to the Audbone Nature Institute.
Last year, an extremely rare – and extremely cute – lucistic crocodile was born in Golorland in Orlando, Florida.
Crocodile is a matter of great attraction for people, whether in the zoo or in the wild. Despite their fatal reputation and the number of population in millions in the south -east, attacks on people are quite rare. And the deaths due to those attacks are even more rare.
