Jayden Riley gets Yorkville Christian rolling

Say this for Jeden Relay of Yorkville Christian. He is an excellent driver.

The relay also passes well and rolls with punches, even if not everyone always agrees that 6 -Foot -2 Sophomore Point Guard draws contact when he goes on the floor as he did four times on Monday night.

Coach Aaron Sovereen said, “Jayden’s such good decision -making,” said coach Aaron Soven. “We are working on a jump shot. I felt that he could reach the line one -two times, but it is what it is. He is a dog.

“He said he was flopped. I said, “When he shoots, he is coming under his feet.”

Riley proved her hosts in the Class 1A Arora Christian Regional Quarter Finals in Gardner-South Wilmington in 101-88 for hosts Mustangs, boiled in a 3-point competition.

Soven said about the bench, “It was one of those people, if I could go, if I have to do, but as long as we were 15 or more, I was in my mind that we were going to keep him there,” Soven said about the bench. “Hopefully, we have a busy week.”

The week continues in the semi -finals against Arlville at 7:30 pm on Wednesday. Hinkle-Big Rock and host Eagles play at 6 in other semi-finals. Friday’s championship is on Game 7.
