Lilly Dockemeyer, Lincoln-Way East top Sandburg

Lily Docmeer of Lincoln-Vay East likes to shoot. plain and simple.

Depending on the practice, senior guards can be many as 75 shots.

This is a lot, but she feels the purpose – winning, especially in the postson.

“You take every shot, you believe it is going to go every time,” he said. “Even though you are not going to make every shot, but when you are open you’ve got to shoot it.”

Dockemeyer opened on Tuesday night, killing two big 3-pointers, who won Griffins for a 60–39 victory in the conference rival Sandberg in a Class 4A Jolyte West sectional semi-finals.

The shots by Dockemeyer will help to lead a 14-point lead for the Lincoln-way East (28–5) at the end of the first quarter, defeating Sandberg (19–15) for the fifth time this season.

Senior Forward Lana Kerley led all scorers with 17 points and a 5-foot-9 dockmereer will play a pair of rebounds for griffins, who will play another conference rival in Homewood FloSmur (22-7) at 6:30 pm on Thursday evening for a sectional title. Vikings defeated Lincoln-way Central 43-32.

For dockmear, which ended with six digits, that moment was easy pea.

“I just caught the ball and I was open,” Dockmier said about his 3-pointers, who were the first points of the game for Griffins. “I was confident that it was about to go inside.”

Senior Forward Juliana Padock and Senior Guard Noor Ali scored 15 points to speed up Sandberg. Ali hit four 3-pointers in the third quarter, as Eagles fought to stay closer.

It is difficult to defeat a team three times in a season, very few. And yes, Docmeyer said that Griffins played as if there was a chip on his shoulder, but it had little to do with the eagles.

“I think it was too big for us,” he said. “I mean, this is Sandberg, of course. But we want to do it for ourselves and do it for our peers.”

Illinois on Tuesday recruited 11 points and nine rebellion, Heaven Smith, who agreed with Docmeer about the focus of Griffins.

“It’s playing more games and playing more basketball with this group of girls,” Smith said. “This is doing it for himself.”

Docmeyer, who begins to play basketball in fourth grade, has developed a top -level shooter from long distances in several ways, including those additional shots in the gym.

Along with this, he has stent with three club programs. And as a young man, he also helped a lot from the founder of the respective Dave Estecamp in Frankfurt.

“When the teams actually try to get the Heaven out inside, which opens some shooters,” Lincoln-way East coach Jim Nair said about the dockmear. “We want to get him some more shots because he is one of the best shooters in the region.”

Nair confirmed that Dockmere is a natural fit as a leader among six seniors, with Kerly and Smith as captains. The style of Dockemeyer is dedicated to taking his peers.

“When someone is having a bad shooting night, I just tell them that they keep walking, they have found,” he said.

Does he tell himself? Sure, but here is a teller Swift twist.

“I have team partners tell me that if I am in my head, to shake it,” he said.

It seems that it does not matter what happens on Thursday, the career of Docmeer is still starting. He is committed to playing in college in Olivate Nazrin, which runs a unique system.

“They do a different style of playing,” said Docmeer. “They go out five and five, where you go hard for two minutes and then you sit.”

In other words, it is like a change in hockey. Go to break, relax, and then go back.

“They want to shoot every occupation,” he said.
