For the second consecutive year, Ottawa Sofomore Juliana Thrush will compete in the IHSA Girls Wrestling State Tournament.
He hopes that his visit to Bloomington last year pays when he returns to Grosinger Motors Arena later this week.

In the previous winter, Thrush lost his opening match at the 235-Pound Bracket, but bounced back to win his first two raceback matches before the quarter-final raceback round ended in the quarter-final Raceback Round, a medal of a medal.
This year, the Thrush State takes 27–3 records in the tournament and the second straight sectional championship.
She opens against Romovile’s freshman Hessis Wilgrana (18–11), who finished fourth in the Shamburg section.
If the thrush wins in the first round, the Ekta will wrestle the winner between Sophomore Phoenix Molina (25–5) and Homewood-FloSmore Senior Jocklin Williams (18-3).
“I am hoping that I medal,” Thrush said. “Last year I was really close.”
Sandwich Senior Ashlin Strenged, Patnam County-Hall Junior Belly Herr and Seneca Sofomore Sammy Grsene are also returning to the state tournament this year, while Princeton Sofomore Easy Gibson and Streater Freshman Lily Gwaltney are new to the state stage.
Last year at the age of 115, Stranz, who finished fourth in the state, traveled to his comeback with a runner-up Finnish at Genezio Sectional.
Stranz (15-4) will face East Pieria Sophomore Kennedy McMenimen (17-3) in his state opener. McMenimen finished third in Richwoods Sectional.
Herra expects a more competitive field because more girls are found in sports.
“There are more and more girls, girls are strong and strong and more girls are learning,” Herr said. “But there is a chance [my state experience last year] Could help. ,
Last year, Herr entered the quarterfinal raceback in 170 brackets, one win from a medal.
In this season, Herr competed in the state after finishing fourth in Janesio Sectional in 190.
Herr (15–11) will face Seon-Benton’s senior Ileen Castrejone (21–1) in the first round. Castrazone, who won the title in Evanston Sectional, finished third at 170 last year.
Greisen (29–8) again qualified for the state, who finished third in the GENESEO section at 130. She will wrestle the Morton Junior Karen Canchola (18–1) in the first round in the state. Canchola was runner -up at Richwoods Sectional.
Gibson earned his first visit to the state at 140 with fourth place for the state in the Jennisio section. Gibson (19-6) will wrestle Kaila Williams, senior Richwoods’ senior in the first round. Williams won the title at Richwoods Sectional.
Gibson said, “I am expecting to win a few matches.” “I expect myself very much, but I am not going to be disappointed with the result. I am happy only to go to the state. I think I will do great. ,
Gwaltney surprised himself by earning a state berth with fourth place at 105 in the Geneseo section. He defeated Kieli Domichich of La Sail-Peru 4–2 in a semi-final raceback after Domichinich beaten four times during the season.
“It just feels good,” Gwaltney said. “I really didn’t think I would be able to make it, and then I did it.”
Gwaltney (19-7) opens against Glenbird East Sofomore Nadia Shimkiv (18–0), who finished fourth in the state last year. He won the title in the Shoumburg section.
“I hope for great competition,” Gwaltney said about the state.
