Lake Forest – He was hired for the first time since last month, two new coordinators of Beers met with media members in Halas Hall on Thursday.
The aggressive coordinator Shane Waldron and the defensive coordinator Eric Washington took each twist on the podium after an introduction to the head coach Mat Abberflus. Waldron Chicago comes after three years as an aggressive coordinator for Seattle Sehox. Washington spent the last four years as a defensive line coach for the Buffalo Bill.
Here we learned from both new coordinators.

QB Discussion
As expected, Waldron did not say anything notable about Quarterback Justin Fields or Possible Top Draft Pick Kaleb Williams. The bear is in the middle of a huge offsen with a difficult decision in quarterbacks. Waldron did not weigh in this case in any meaningful way.
However, he said that he believes that his aggressive plan can flourish with any quarterback.
“I fully believe that,” Waldron said.
Waldron granted coaching for half a decade with Sean McWaway. His crime in Seattle carried out similar concepts as to what McWewe has traditionally done to Rama. The bear will continue to run a wide zone blocking scheme with a run-first approach. Waldron was very successful in the scheme, while Jeno Smith was in quarterbacks in the last two sessions in Seattle.
“I felt that they are able to set foot in separate quarterbacks, able to learn it quickly,” Waldron said. “It begins with us to be able to teach it in a good and efficient way, where they understand it and then are able to go. And then, just because every man is going to have a different skill set, so in which direction does it go? Players actually take ownership and control over it. ,
I felt that they are able to set foot in separate quarterbacks system, able to learn it quickly. ,
– Shane Waldron, aggressive coordinator
Waldron said Smith’s success began with his mentality. Even when Smith Russell Wilson was backup, Smith believed that he was an NFL early quarterback.
“All this begins how well you are knowing these people,” Waldron said. “What is the relationship with them?”

An experienced play-collar
The Beers wanted an aggressive coordinator with the play-calling experience. This is what they met in Waldron. When his predecessor, Luke Gates acted, Gates had no previous experience of previous experience calling plays.
Waldron believes that a large part of play-giving is developing an experience for the game. The last three sessions in Seattle have allowed him to do so.
“You don’t know until you do it and then, once you do it, it is exposed, I think it’s all about the representative,” Waldron said. “Like it is no different for a player. You know, the more you deposit, the more conditions that are placed in front of you, the more and more natural it is to react with a positive decision in those scenarios. ,
Seahawks won six games on the game-winner drive in the fourth quarter last season. He did five times with Smith and once in a quarterback with backup Drew Lock.
“Play-collar peace in those scenarios,” said Waldron. “To get information from all other coaches. Everything is always going to be a collaborative effort in those relationships. ,
In two years with Gates in the aggressive coordinator, the bears were 3–13 in the game of each.
Everything but calling plays
Abberflus confirmed that he would continue to call plays to protect. During the second part of the season, Eberflus found a drain with the plays. It is understandable that the bears will not want to change it.
But Washington will still play a big role in what happens in defense.
Washington said, “I will do everything that the coordinator is actually doing without calling defense.” “and if [Eberflus] Temporarily or for a snap or two I need to hand over that responsibility, [I’ll] Be prepared to follow the role and take the role and make sure we continue to move in the direction in which we want to go. ,
Washington and Eberflus have never been on the same coaching staff, but they know each other during the offsen events on the NFL calendar. There has always been a mutual respect. Washington was once a coordinator with Carolina Panthers (2018-19). He said that he expects to call plays to protect again in future.
Nevertheless, he understands that beers have “an excellent play-colon” in the Abbreflus.
Washington said, “We saw the effect that was in our team last year, going down with a stretch, especially.” “We want to continue it. We do not want to stop that speed. ,
Build a top pass crowd
When he saw the protection of Beers on the tape, Washington saw many elements that create a defense aristocracy. The most notable were takeaWays in 2023-28 of them, including a league-agron 22 interception. Bear was number 1 ranked run defense. He made the teams one-dimensional.
Wouldn’t the defensive coach be a part of that? But Washington has made its places high.
Washington said, “We are going to make the best pass crowd in football.” “This is a region, fortunately, an area with which I have got tremendous success, and we have the personnel to do so. We got size, speed, faster, length [and] Montez. ,
Montez is a major component. Raksha made a lot of progress after adding the defensive end Montez sweat on the deadline of trade last year.
Washington helped to create an elite pass rush when being a defensive accessory for beers from 2008–10. She coached Carolina Defense Line when she was rolling things during Cam Newton era. He has given coaching to the defensive line of current bills. The bear’s de-line should be with him in good hands.
