Raleigh, NC (AP)-Sebastian AHO scored with 18.9 seconds, causing Pyotr Kochetkov and Carolina Hurricane to beat Florida Panthers 1-0 on Thursday night.
Cochtakov stopped 44 shots in his third shutout of the season. Carolina has won four straight and six of her last seven matches.
Florida won 11 straight road games, there was a shortage in tying the NHL record.
This was the rematch of the last year’s Eastern Conference Final, and it looked like a playoff game in February. In May, both playoff games in Rale went in extra time, including four overtime marathons in Game 1.
Carolina coach Rod Bindmore said, “It was really as if we were almost right, the way it was (in the playoffs).”
Aho raised Carolina to win when he defeated Sergei Bobarovski after a shot attempt by Andrei Swachicov, before he could reach the net.
AHO had a major scoring opportunity in regulation with 3:46, but could not control a tip-in chance in front. Aho said that he “missed an empty-network.”
Florida followed Aho’s early Miss, originally ruled with a target for Etu Luostarinn with 3:19. But the panthers were discontinued after a successful challenge by Brind’amor.
“I got another chance and was able to put it,” Aho said about the 21st goal of his team’s season.
It was the goals that worked to lift heavy. Cochtakov’s gloves Save at just 3:30 in the third round on 2 -on -1 rush on Ivan Rodrigues, one of several highlights for Carolina goalkeeper.
“We have all found a goal,” Brind’amor said. “We needed (Kochhetkov) and that was right and that was.”
Bobroveski, the star of the playoff sweep of Carolina’s panthers, was equally luxurious. He also got some help from the cage. Jordan Martinook first shot a shot from a left post, and Tony de ‘Angelo did one in the second.
For a 24 -year -old Russian Kochtekov, an additional meaning of his 35 -year -old countryman had an additional meaning. Bobrovsky ended with 28 savings.
“He is an incredible goalkeeper and an incredible man,” said Kochtekov. “For me, it is a small day and a small of a particular game.”
The panthers played the last two periods without Matthew Takchuk and Defenseman Gustav Forceling.
