Marshall welcomes Appalachian State for home finale

Huntington, W. V. , Marshall Mains Basketball wraps the domestic part of 2023-24 schedule on Saturday evening and will be the national eyes watching the competition with the Major Aplachian State climbers of the Sun Belt Conference.

The game closes at 6 pm and will be shown nationwide on ESPN2.

Four martial seniors will be honored before the game – Guards Kamdin Karfman and Kevon Violes, Forward Marco Sarenac and Center Gran Mildinovic.

“We are going to remember all of them,” said the flock head coach Dan de “Antony. “I hope he enjoyed martial because if he has a positive attitude about his time, they help us recruit the next group.”

Thundering herd (12–16, 7-8) is trying to break a four-game losing streak, while Epalachian State (23–5, 13-2) hopes to maintain a game lead over James Madison in Sun Belt Standing.

The Old Dominion was 82–67 winners on Thursday night. Marshal James Madison is coming from 84-58 routes on Wednesday night.

D’Antony says that Marshall’s victory problem is difficult to pin recently.

“It seems that there is a malaise on us and it is negative,” D “Antony said. “We are trying to do it best that we can do at home. We are all insisting on getting out of it. ,

The herd played at Appalachian State a week ago, in which climbers won the game 73–58.

Marshal and apps have a long history, when both of them were at the Southern Conference, he was going back during the day. The herd leads the all-time series 34–19.


Mountaineers have three players who scoring average in double-phiger in each game, but seven apps play average 6.7 points or more, emphasizing balanced scoring by head coach Dustin Cairns.

Top scorer trains are trays splers (13.2), Donovan Gregory (13) and Terence Harakam (11.9). Spillars and elder men Justin Abson combine for around 16 rebounds per game.

Marshall’s statistical leader Obinna is the same with an average in double-phiger for Anocheli-Killain, Violens, Karman and Nat Martin. Martin is one of the rebounding leaders of the herd and sun belt.

Anocheli-Cilan’s performance is a concern for Marshal, as he has scored only seven points in his last three matches.

Next week, Marshall wraps regular season with sports in Georgia southern and Georgia on Friday on Friday.

Marshall’s female basketball team may claim the Sun Belt Conference Regular season championship after this weekend game.

Coach Kim Caldwell’s team is in total 20-6 and 14–1 in the league and is able to tie at least one for the title on Saturday if Louisiana-Mono (17–10, 9–6) wins herd in 1 pm.

There is a two-game lead in the herd on Troy. On Saturday, a martial victory and a Troy necklace at South Alabama gave the championship to the Thundering Flock.

Marshall will wrap the regular season at home next week with the game of Georgia on Tuesday and Georgia Dakshin on Friday.
