WVU Campus Warning issued following burglary, arson reports

MorGantown, W.VA. – West Virginia University Police issued a campus warning after the theft and arson report at the same Life Sciences Building Location at the WVU Downtown Campus.

Police received a report of a theft on Wednesday morning which was not in progress on the fourth floor of Jeevan Vigyan Bhavan. The suspects or suspects entered the office of a faculty member in the East Hallway between some time and the morning of 21 February. The faculty member reported the missing test material.


The WVU police received a second report on Friday that the same office was broken in the Life Sciences Building. Police determined that except for the new equipment, it was entered overnight and marks were burnt at the door. There was no reported disappearance after the second forced entry investigation.

Later on Friday, the authorities found five additional office doors on the floor, which maintained similar damage, indicating an entry attempt.
