Wife of Illinois trooper injured in Scott’s Law crash seeks help with medical costs – Shaw Local

The wife of an Illinois state police soldier, who was seriously injured in Scott’s law accident in 2021, is demanding the help of the community for her visit to the Texas Clinic, hoping that she hopes she could help her emerge from her minimal conscious state.

Lauren Frank, wife of tropper Brian Frank, said she has been in that position since he was seriously injured in an accident on 15 February 2021. The incident occurred when he was on duty and was responding to another accident on Interest 55 north of Route 30 in Wil County.

The accident occurred due to another driver, Angel Casillus, who was sentenced to a year and three months in jail last year after Scott was convicted for violating the law. In the law, motorists either need to change the lane or reduce the speed when reaching a stable emergency vehicle.

Brian Frank has been in recovery for over two years from his severe painful brain injury. Lauren Frank said that her husband is non-verbal, cannot proceed on his own and requires 24/7 help.

But now Brian Frank has been accepted for treatment at the Neurosolution Clinic in Austin, Texas.

“This is a good opportunity, but it’s an expensive opportunity,” Lauren Frank said.

Lauren Franc’s Gofundme page has prescribed a goal of $ 130,000 for travel and two weeks treatment for her husband. The online fundrizer has gathered $ 85,335 till Thursday afternoon.

Lauren Frank hopes that the clinic in Texas can help her and others may communicate with her husband.

“This is a barrier that finds him out to find a quick, safe way to get there,” he said.

Neurosolution Clinic was led by Dr. Brandon is done by Cropford. The clinic focuses on the treatment of painful brain injury, paralysis, seizure disorder, spinal cord injury and other conditions.

The 2021 accident that was injuring Frank was so far another tragic incident that highlighted the need for Scott law for the police, also known as The Move Over Law in Illinois.

The law is named after the Chicago Fire Department Lieutenant Scott Gilon, who was killed and killed by a drunk driver in 2000, assisting in an accident on the Dan Ryan Expressway.

After the accident, Frank was long hospitalized, while he tolerated brain surgery, pneumonia and other complications. He then moved to a house that was revised to meet his medical needs after his release in the hospital.

At a news conference after the Casillus sentence, Wil County State Attorney James Glasgow said Scott’s law fund should be better funded for maximum publicity of law and education.

Glasgow said last year Glasgow said, “This law requires more advertisements in TV and media and how important it is to follow this law and avoid this type of tragedies.”

Glasgow also recommended that Scott Law Fund should have money for Troper’s injuries.

“This is just general knowledge. Glasgow said that when they are injured or become seriously disabled, they should not be out of the expense of any pocket.
