Bloomington – Yorkville and St. Charles East Boys Wrestling Teams each earned hardware for the second straight season in the IHSA Class 3A Dual Team State Tournamate in Grosinger Motors Arena in Bloomington.
Fox-he finished fourth in the last season-finished 59–6 for champions Mount Carmel on Saturday night. Defending Champion St. Charles East, meanwhile, raised a semi-final shock for caravan to win a 37-22 win over Libertyivela in third place.
“They are good,” Yorkville coach Jake Ooster said, his team won 22–5 in the season. “They [Mount Carmel] Illinois is one of the best teams not only in the state but also across the country. We knew that it was going to be a very difficult match, but my people kept scrapping from beginning to end and were wrestling as much as possible.
“The whole team was able to see that there are different levels for things. Mount Carmel is just at a different level. They are very solid in every original of wrestling through their lineups. There is not a really weak place. My people were able to see what wrestling is and hope that he would take some distance from today. ,
Yorkville arrived in the championship match with the first 36-20 win in the day.

Oster said, “We will start a couple in both state qualifiers in both Dominic Koronado and Luke Cris, but we are a lot coming back and a very good freshmen class is coming,” said Oster. “I think we will be very good again next year and hope that we can get here for the third straight year.”
St. Charles East captured seven out of the first 10 matches in a win over Libertyiwile (13-3).

“We knew that Mount Carmel, Jolit Catholic and all of us were going to hunt for it,” said coach Potter. “It was going to come down which was a good day and which could be healthy.
“Dual (Saturday) was a great dual dual (Saturday) with Mount Carmel, both teams performed super hard wrestling. We lost Tyler Gujara (138) for injury to last week’s individual state tournament, which was difficult for us later this week, but people really moved step and fought to the end. ,
