Biden approves military air drops of aid into Gaza after chaotic encounter left dozens dead – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

Washington (AP)-President Joe Biden said on Friday that America would begin to receive human assistance in Gaza, a day later more than 100 Palestinians were killed during a chaotic encounter with Israeli soldiers.

According to Gaza’s Hamas-Run’s Health Ministry, the President announced the move after at least 115 Palestinians were killed and more than 750 others were injured, on Thursday when witnesses said that Israeli soldiers set fire to Israeli soldiers as the huge crowd raced to draw goods from a support convoy.

Biden said that air drops would soon begin and the United States was looking at additional methods to facilitate badly assistance in the war-pale region to reduce the pain of Palestinians.

Biden said, “In the coming days we are going to join Jordan with our friends and others who are providing additional food and supply aircraft” and “possibly trying to open other routes including a sea corridor,” Biden said.

The President mentioned the aircraft to help Ukraine twice, but the White House officials clarified that he was referring to Gaza.

Israel said many dead were trampled in a stampede involving chaos and its soldiers opened fire on some in the crowd, believing that they had moved towards them in a threatening manner.

Biden announced hosting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the White House.

“There is nowhere to aid for Gaza,” Biden said. “Now, it’s nowhere. Innocent life is on line and children’s life is on line. We will not stand until we get much help there. We must be getting hundreds of trucks, not only many. ,

In his visit with Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni at the White House, Biden also demanded assurance to European leaders on Friday that the US is behind Ukraine, even he has been unable to pass a supplementary foreign aid package which includes $ 60 billion for Ukraine, besides $ 35 billion for Israel and Taiwan. The law has passed the Senate, but the Republican Speaker Mike Johnson refused to vote in the House.

Next to Meloni’s visit, White House officials said they do not have good answers to colleagues about finding the end of the deadlock with the House Republican and reopening the American spigot of support to Kiev, which is badly needed by Ukraine as Ukraine tries to remove Russia’s invasion.

White House spokesperson Olivia Dalton said, “This is clearly a protesting influence on the safety of not only our national security but also all over the world allies and partners.”

With Biden, top Democrats and Senate Republican leader Michconel, during the White House meeting this week, Johnson strongly urged to take foreign aid package, but Johnson replied that the Congress should “take care of the needs of the US first.”

Friday’s meeting is second between Biden and Meloni in about seven months. Both leaders are struggling with war in the Middle East and Europe and are looking at their people standing.

On the second anniversary of Russia’s invasion, Meloni traveled to Kiev last week to host a group of seven leaders with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelansky. Belgian, Canada and European Union Commission leaders joined Meloni in Kiev, and Biden and other leaders joined the video. Italy presided over the G7 one year in January.

During Kiev’s recent visit, Meloni confirmed Italian support for Ukraine and signed a security cooperation agreement for military and technical assistance at the end of the year. Italy is also committed to helping Ukraine to rebuild historical monuments.

The Biden administration was hesitant when Meloni increased power as Italy’s first far-flung-leading government since the end of World War II. But both have found a common base on the cause of Ukraine, and Biden praised Meloni and Italy for his efforts to return Kiev when he visited Washington in July.

The agenda of leaders was also expected to cover the efforts of an extended ceasefire by the American, Egypt and Qatar by the broker, a G7, Italy’s priorities for the presidency, the migrant flows from North Africa to Italy, and their countries’ China policies.

Biden said earlier this week that he was optimistic that a ceasefire could be a ceasefire deal earlier next week. But he admitted that on Thursday, Israeli soldiers were fired after Israeli soldiers to pull food from a causing convoy on a large crowd of Palestinians.

Along with Meloni, Biden on Friday expressed cautious optimism that a deal could still be killed.

“We are working and hopefully we will know soon”

Meloni has to travel to Canada to meet Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Saturday.
