Basketball teams should remain at its peak at the end of a regular season.
This is anything but right now for Marshall.
The herd dropped a sixth straight game on Wednesday, falling in Georgia Southern, 87–73. This disadvantage dropped Marshal from 12–18 and 7-10 to 7-10 at the Sun Belt Conference.
The last win of the herd came against the coastal Carolina on 3 February, and Marshall hopes that a Bhulakkad is expected to be put behind it at 7 pm on Friday while playing in Georgia State.
At the Georgia State Convocation Center, the final regular season is 7 o’clock for the tip-off time for both squads.
With the opening of the Sun Belt Conference men’s basketball tournament in less than a week in Pensaccola, Florida, Marshall’s head coach Dan D’Antony says that time is running short for his team to reverse his negative speed.
“To do a lot of work and less time to do it,” D’Antony said. “I don’t think we have a problem with confidence, but right now, we are not executing as well. We are working hard, but we have found a way to win the game.”
The Herd and Panthers met in Huntington on 24 January, when Marshall won 77–68. Obinna Anochely-Killain of the herd had a game-high 22 points in the competition.
Marshal is 3–0 against Georgia state in all-time matchup.
The panthers lost to James Madison on Wednesday night at home on 84–78 night.
Georgia State features an average of three players of double-figure scoring in Lucas Taylor (13.9 PPG), Toneari Lane (13 PPG) and DWON ODOM (12 PPG).
Jay’den Turner is the top rebounder of panthers with an average of 8.6.
Marshall still has four double-figure scorers, headed by ANOCHILI-Killain to 14.5 points per game. Nat Martin leads the herd with an average 10 rebounds.
