The Lawrence School is encouraging the district district families to talk to its Schwegler primary students, as the night’s custodian has been accused of raping two children, which took place between 2008 and 2010.

Lance L. Yodar, now 53, was arrested on Thursday and three children were included on Friday to include three children, who were between 10–12 and 14–16 at that time about 15 years ago.

District spokesperson Julie Boyle informed the Shwheglar families about the arrest in an email on Friday afternoon. He wrote that the district has not received any information from the police which shows that the allegations are related to Shweglar students or school.

Boyle has written that Yoder has been employed with the district since September 2022, and the district has been ending its employment, Boyle wrote. He was at work on Wednesday. In his specific work program, Yoder arrived at school an hour before dismissal.

“Even though there is no knowledge of connecting these allegations to Shweglar School, but out of an abundance of caution, we encourage families to talk to their children,” Boyle wrote. “Ask him if he knows Mr. Yodar and whether he has a conversation or conversation with him.” There is no need to share details with young children that can scare or disturb them. ,

He asked the families to contact the Lawrence Police Department on 785-832-7509 and asked the chief investigator to learn anything that he worries them. The school counselor will be available to help families, provide resources or to support them, Boyle wrote.

He wrote that the district knows that the news is worrisome.

“We encourage all to stay calm and learn as much as possible about any possible safety concerns,” Boyle wrote. “If we can avoid jumping to conclusion without evidence or facts, we can prevent unnecessary nervousness around a situation that may have very little connections with our school community.”

Law enforcement documents indicate that the allegations were reported in January this year. Based on the circumstances, the police is common to investigate alleged sexual offenses to take a month or more before arrest.

The records of the online court indicate that Yoder was formally accused in the first appearance on Friday afternoon, and the judge appointed a defense counsel to represent him.

The judge showed Yoder’s bond identifying $ 100,000, gel records; This means that Yodar was able to get himself out of Douglas County Jail and was not to pay a Bondsman to be released. According to jail records, they will have a pre -surety supervision with house arrest and GPS monitoring.

The date of Yoder’s next court has been scheduled on 27 March in Division 1.

The KBI background investigation on Yoder did not return any previous arrest or criminal cases in Kansas.

In criminal cases all arrests and defendants should not be convicted until they are convicted.
