Los Angeles-Lebron James League became the first player in history to score at least 40,000 regular-season points at night, with Laks left Saturday’s home matchup in Denver Natts, 124–114, Crypto.com Erina.
It seemed that James’ milestone was about to win a win, in which Lake (33-29) was a leader for most of Saturdays.
But Nugets (42–19) dominated the late part of the matchup, shut down the fourth for 16–4 runs for their sixth consecutive win, with Lakes’ 3–0 regular season sweeps.
The Lakes has lost its last eight matches in Nugets, including four-market sweeps in the Western Conference final of the previous season.
James finished with 26 points on 12 -for -20 shooting to go with nine assistance and four rebels. Rui Hachimura added 23 points to 10 -for -15 shooting, while Nicola was the primary defender for important stretch against Jokik (35 points, 10 rebounds, seven supports).
Austin Reeves recorded 19 points to go with a career-high 14 assist. Anthony Davis ended with 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks while D ‘Angelo Russell had 17 points.
James reached a milestone at the 10:39 mark of the second quarter, when he trimmed Michael Porter Junior to give Laks a initial lead of 37-32.
