USWNT shakes off shocking loss, advances to Women’s Gold Cup semis with a 3-0 win over Colombia

Los Angeles-Jenna Nighswangagar and Jedin Shaw scored in the first half, and the United States rebounded Mexico to proceed to Colombia on Colombia on Sunday night, with a 3–0 win over Colombia, to proceed to the semi-finals of the Conscaif Women’s Gold Cup.

Lindsay Horan also changed a punishment for Americans in the initial minutes, who shook the shame of their 2–0 defeat in Mexico last Monday in the final game of Group Play. The US returned prominently against an influential Colombian team that reached the quarterfinals of the last year’s World Cup.

The US will face Canada in the Gold Cup semi -finals in San Diego on Wednesday. The Mexico takes the BMO Stadium to Brazil in the other semi-finals after a 3-2 quarter-final win over Paraguay on Sunday on Sunday.

The disadvantage of Mexico highlighted the continuous decline in the results of this prolonged world football power over the years, including the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics and a round -off -16 exit from the last year’s World Cup. But this victory showed that the current Americans still have enough talent and athleticism that transforms a difficult matchup into a comfortable win – especially when their young stars get a chance to flourish.

The influential first-half aggressive attack was exposed by the 19-year-old emerging star of Americans, 19-year-old Americans. When she scored runs on a sharp pass from fellow young Trinity Rodman, she joined Shannon Boxx, who joined as the only players in American history to score in her first three international beginnings.

Before scoring Mexico twice, the US did not score a goal for a concacaf rival in its last 33 matches, but a defense led by goalkeeper Elisa Neeher and Naomi Girma got the Americans back to clean sheets against Colombia, in which Naeher closed the 43rd during a decade.

A loud mob supported the US’s efforts to return to the track at Angel City FC’s Home Stadium south of Los Angeles, and its team was awarded an initial punishment when Georlin Karbali took a sprinting Alex Morgan in the 10th minute. Horn state it before burying it for his second penalty conversion of the Gold Cup.

Both teams had a physical edge in the first half, in which Morgan and Maria Usma were matching yellow cards for scrap during positioning. Rodman found another yellow to kick in Deniella Aryas in disappointment on the Cage Play of Colombian defender after a few minutes.

Nighsonger took a 2–0 lead in the 22nd minute, which led to a strong strike, resulting in the second career of the native of Southern California. 23 -year -old Gotham FC Defender graduated from Huntington Beach High School.

Colombia increased her pressure, but Naeher made two impressive savings on shots by real Madrid teenager Linda Jayado.

The US overtook 3–0 in the first half-injury time when Shaw exploded the Centering Pass of Home Rodman for the fifth place in his third goal and eight career performances of the tournament. The American attack has been clearly more impressive in this tournament when quick, creative Shaw – who plays for San Diego’s NWSL team – is on the field.
