Princeton High School Girls are a lot of talented players for basketball in the 50 -year history of the program.

When you ever see the best player to play, you have to start with Tia Romagnoli.

The 6–1 athletic center, Romaganoli (’99) is 1,506 career points as well as the all-time leading scorer of any girl or boy in PHS with girls’ rebound leader (933). She was a three-time BCR player of the year, a double-dobbal average in each season, 20.1 PPG as junior and a senior in 13.2 rebounds.

Romagnoli went to play volleyball at the University of India.

Romagnoli’s coach Charlie Yalem at PHS said during his senior season that “We can always plug Tia’s numbers and hope that the rest of the team played enough to win us.”

The first five rounding guards are Tina Fourth (’91) and Anna Murray (’18), Forward Angie Noble (’87) and Center Brook Jensen (’07).

Murray, who took the average of the team-high 16.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.9 assistance and average of 3.3 stolen as a senior, was highly touched in the youth rank playing in a boys team. He ranks third in scoring with 1,169 points and will have a serious shot on number 1, knee injury did not knock him out in the second game of his new season.

Initially, Elmharst University was admitted to play basketball, died to play volleyball at IVCC. He is now a member of PHS boys coaching staff.

Jensen was a post (6–0) that could get out of the paint and shoot. He was a game of the year co-star, two-time first-team All-BCR and a star of the 2007 sectional champion, average 14.6 points and 8.4 rebounds. He stands number 2 all-time with 1,283 career points.

Nobel, who was a leading scorer in NCIC (18.2 PPG) as a senior, is now ranked sixth in all time scoring and has also held a career rebound record (769) and single-game scoring records (33). She went to play volleyball in ISU.


Further, Point Guard for the Regional Champion of 1991 became the first 1,000-point scorer with 1,029 points in school history. The first team All-BCR (3 times) and NCIC selection created 114 3-pointers in three years, on an average 13.1 PPG Senior Seasons.

For the 1990 State Volleyball Champion, Setter went to play both basketball and volleyball at Fourth Monmouth College. Mrs. Heller of the future now teaches at Logan Junior High.

Jasmine Kunkel (’12) is the head of our second five, who joined the Guard Rachel Robinson (’89) and forward Austin Miller (’07), Kelly Shil (’99) and CJ Rhodes (’12).

Kunkel joined the 1,000-point club with two points. The CO-BCR Player of the Year of 2011-12 took average of 13.6 PPG Senior Year with season-high 32, using an explosive, which was labeled “unstopped”. Apart from this, one football and volleyball standout, Kunkel was a BCR athlete twice a year.

Miller shared the BCR Player of the Year honor with Jensen from the 2007 sectional champion. He was a match-up problem for the rescue of the region with its size and quickness, the team’s high level 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game its senior year. He is ranked 8th in career scoring with 844 points.

Schaill (5–11) was the second twin tower behind Tiah Romagnoli, when PHS was played in class AA, 17.9 points average and 5.5 rebounds a game as a senior. She holds a school-game scoring record with 40 points against LP on 23 January 1998.

Rhodes was a three-year-old Versity player, a ‘quiet “team leader who led for example. The first team All-BCR selection took an average of 11.3 ppg as a senior with 49 3-pointers. He finished with 927 career points, finished at number 7.
