The climbers enjoyed the run 6–0 in half and knocked on going away to win their last five shots. Trays-von splers scored with 10:40 and Justin Abbson to push the lead back at 53–47 with 9:30 to push the lead back and trigger late attack.
“It was difficult. They gave us some opportunities, we did not play,” Herd Coach Dan D’Antony said at the post-game radio show. “They played us very thick. We have to adjust it. It’s a difficult place to play.”
Kevon Voyals led Marshall with 19 points. Jacob Konner added 11 and nine rebounds. Karfman ended with 11. Nat Martin led rebels with 12.
Obino ANOCHILI-Killain struggled the entire game. He hit only 1 -14 shots and a free throw for three points.
“Obinna has become more aggressive there,” D “Antony said. “Jacob did a little bit, but may be better. Not enough aggressive to score in lane. It has to develop it.”
The martial region contains 22–37 (32.8 percent) to 22 -37 (38.1 percent) to 8 -21 (38.1 percent).

The climbers flourished on the shooting of the second half. They were 17–31 and 29–57 for the game. Donovan Gregory led the domestic team with 19 points. He killed 8 -13 shots. Tre’von Spillers had double-dobbal with 14 points and 14 rebounds. He made 6-8 shots from the floor. Miles Tate finished with five to 8 shoots to go with five assistance. Appalachian State also had six blocks. The climbers are 15–1 while catching an opponent under 40 percent of the shoots.
For climbers coach Dustin Cairns, this was his first win against Marshall. He was 0-3.
Marshal leads the overall chain against Appalachian State 34-20. The school southern conference was rivals for nearly 20 years before attending the middle American conference of Marshal in 1997.
Obina Anocilli -Killain was 1 -10 to 10 from the ground with a rebound with five minutes in the second half.
The teams will have rematch on 24 February in Huntington. The game will be on ESPN2 or ESPNU for National Telecast. Start time has been taken at 6 pm

In the afternoon, the women of Marshall defeated Appalachian State, 87-78 in an education day competition.
AB Beman led the thundering herd with 21 points, nine rebounds and six assistance. Meredith Mayer added 14 points and Sydney Scott and Breena Campbell 13 each.
Alexis Black placed climbers with 24 points.
Marshall finished with 14 threads and scored 29 points from 26 Aplachian State Turnover.
Marshal leads the sun belt conference on 12–1 and is 18–6 in total. The herd excluded the home team from 29–18 in the fourth period, thanks to 11 -18 shooting from the ground.
Marshall’s next game is against Old Dominion in Norfolk on Saturday, VA. Start time is 2 o’clock
