Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (AP)-Lionel Messi and Inter Miami shut down their tumor Major League Soccer Presence on Thursday night with a 1–1 draw against Messi’s Boyhood Club, Newwal’s Old Boys.
This was the first time that the eight -time Ballon D’Or winner faced the club that he and the Inter Miami coach Gerrardo “Tata” Martino grew up as a native of Rosario, Argentina. Messi FC played as a child before leaving to play for Barcelona, where he got up for football stardom. Martino played for the club and coached and kept a record for most of the club history.
With the stadium packed with fans excited to see Messi, the 36 -year -old star did not have much impact on the game. He missed a free kick in the first half, but looked healthy, moving forward and was easily slicing through opponents.
Messi missed the winning of 4 February in Hong Kong on 4 February as due to injuries. He stayed with a waist injury on the bench for the entire game as fans smelled and demanded refund.
Messi checked out of the game with Louis Suarez of Inter Miami in the 60th minute on Thursday. When a young fan was spread on the ground with his arms before being intercepted by safety.
Martino said that Messi felt well after Thursday’s match and is confident that he was recovering well as he ramps for the beginning of a regular season.
Shanyder Borgelin placed Inter Miami 1–0 with a header in the 64th minute, and Nevel’s Franco Diaz tied it in the 83rd minute.
MLS of Messi was MLS Muden dirty. For the purpose of inter -promotion and marketing, Inter Miami set up the global tour of the performance Games featuring Messi and Uruguay Star Suarez. But this tour received mostly poor PR, as well as not very great results on the field.
Inter Miami was dropped from 12–7 in her first five matches before winning in Hong Kong. The victory was overched by anger by anger when neither Messi nor Suez took the field.
“We understand the disappointment of fans for the absence of Leo (Messi) and Luis Suarez,” Martino said after that game. “We understand that a lot of fans are very disappointed and we apologize to them. We want us to send Leo and Louis for at least some time but the risk was very big.”
Borgelin, 22 -year -old, who came up with a header in the game five minutes after drowning, said that he felt that the difficult Presiden made the team strong and prepared more to attack an upcoming season that would be full of high expectations.
“Obviously it is expected when you will have the biggest player in the world,” he said. “I think we are all ready and we are all calling for a big task. We are all on the field for a reason. And it is part of the game, loss, everything that comes with it.”
Inter Miami will host Real Salt Lake on 21 February in his regular session opener.
