Tempe, Ariz. – Taylor ward admitted that he was somewhat apprehensive as he stepped into the box on Saturday afternoon, but Bhavna did not last long.
Angels outfielder said, “The first pitch went away, (Bhavna),” said.
The ward faced the right-handed Davis Daniel and Travis McGragger, the first when he was abolished by a fastball on his 2023 season by a fastball on his face in July, he hit against game-speed pitching.
The injuries of that day suffered, causing surgery and a dull question about whether the mental effect of that moment could have negative effects on their career.
The ward was killing from November, but he did not face a pitcher until Saturday. Daniel threw him a 95 mph fastball, which was up and inside. The ward, which now wears a protective C-flap on its jaw, also saw a curve ball which started high and then pigeons on the plate.
He was not a flinch on anyone.

The ward said, “I was just uncertain where my life was going at that time.” “I was trying to blink my left eye and felt that there was a lacquer, so at that moment I was like outside.”

Now, he does not show any visual effect of injury, and till now he has no mental scars. Asked if he does not like to talk about it, he said that he is fine. The ward said that he spoke to several other big legers including Justin Turner, who had passed through similar experiences.
“It was good to listen to his approach,” he said. “They told me that everything was going to be alright.”
If the ward can perform as its best performance in the last two years, it will be a significant boost for the crime of angels. He started 2022 season with 1.194 OPS through his first 30 matches. He hurt his shoulder in the right area fence in the end of May, and he stated that his strength reduced, declining three months. Ward was strong in 2022, but then started 2023 in another recession.
He started hitting again in the last season, posting 1.047 OPS in his last 85 plate shows before the injury.
The ward said, “I have definitely learned a lot last year as to why I went so far.” “It was 100% mechanics. During that time, I was able to learn a lot. … This offsen really picked up a way where I was right, where I had left. So to know the things and the signs that I tick more and more, just learn myself more and more, just hope how difficult it is, it is, this game, this game, it’s and dows,”
Another chance
The right -handed Hunter Stricland ran to only nine games in 2021 with Angels. He conceded nine runs in 6–1/3 innings and was nominated for assignments.
“I was not really surprised,” Striland said, who re -incorporated angels on a minor league deal on Saturday. “You saw the numbers. A small sample size to ensure, but the best drama at the end of the day has found a job to us. I have great respect for Perry (Minsian) and organization. I get it. It’s a business. I am going to make it a little better this time.”
The 35 -year -old Stricland has not picked up big companies since 2022. He was with Cincinnati Reds in Triple-A when he was released in May last year.
“Honestly, I thought I was done,” said Stricland. “I made peace with it. Just enjoying summer at home, the first since high school. Enjoying it with his family.”
Striland decided that he did not want to leave his career, so he worked in winter and threw a showcase, in which angels participated. Striclland is now competing with veterans like Drew Pomeranz, Adam Colerek, which is also on minor league deals with young pitches such as Andrew Wantz and Jimmy Hart for the final locations in the Angels Bulpen.
“It is clearly a healthy competition, which is a good thing,” Striland said. “It says a lot what Perry and organizations are trying to do here. Finally, we are trying to win here, to bring a championship for Anahim. Trying to carry forward all options and there is some depth, which I think is always important.”
Manager Ron Washington said that the pitches who are competing will not have the luxury to use spring training to work on things.
Washington said, “Nolan Ryan can only work on his luggage.” “I don’t think we have nolan Ryan. They have to work on their belongings and be competitive at the same time.”

The third baseless Anthony Randan arrived at the camp on Saturday, a day earlier all the posts were scheduled to be physical. The first full squad workout will be on Monday. ,
Jose Quizada, the left -arm Jose Quizada, who rethinks Tommy John surgery, said he was playing the toss for a long time. Once he fulfills that progress, he will start throwing a mound. Quizda said they do not have a date to return to action, but angels hope that they will be ready in June or July. ,
Infielder Ehire Adrianza arrived at the camp on Saturday. Adrianza, who signed a minor league deal, missed the last season due to a shoulder injury, requiring surgery. He said that he is now “100%”. Adriana played only in the Caribbean series for Venezuela’s team, which won the championship. ,
Angels have adjusted their workout schedule as players with so many situations have already completed some things that the team had planned to work after the first official full squad workout.
