Indianapolis – Stephen Curry was on a roll – and it was barely enough to defeat Sabrina Eioncu.
And appropriately, he won by three.
Golden State Star and NBA’s all-time 3-point King defeated Eansku 29-26 in the Steif vs Sabarina competition on Saturday night, he was the first of his kind in the weekend of the league.
“To give a show for us this way, it was perfect,” said Curry. “The excitement you can make in that short time, two great shooters can go on it. This is something we will remember for a long time.”
INESCU won the WNBA’s 3-point shootout with a record 37 points in its all-star weekend last year, breaking the 31-point mark of Curry’s NBA shootout. From there, a challenge was thrown down and the plan to meet in the all-star weekend was fabricated for them.
So they did, and it felt like the main event of the night.
“Hopefully, this is not the last time we do,” IONESCU said.
Given how fan-and in fact, everyone loved both NBA and WNBA, it is likely that it will not be the last time, especially when Curry and Eonceku later talked about adding partners to the mixture next year, when all-star weekends are only in San Francisco, the field where he plays and he says home.
Curry award was a championship belt, which had images of goats – eg, goats – both sides.
And he is a shoot goat, without question. But the New York Liberty Star Eansu, almost more than handling him.
IenESCU first Gaya and made 18 out of 27 shots – 7 for 7. Some of them were worth one point, two of two, gave him a total of 26 points.
He shot from the NBA 3-point line, which is about 12 to 18 inches from the basket compared to the WNBA line based on the floor area. INESCU used a WNBA ball, slightly smaller than the NBA ball curry.
Curry finally had to hold a little rally, making nine out of the last 10 to win.
Jointly, he shot 39 for 54 (72%) in a competition with unconventional elements such as a lime-green glass floor at a football stadium with the world.
“It was very authentic for both of us to be able to be here, not finally shooting in front of everyone, not in a closed gym and to understand and understand what it means to ourselves, but also a big picture,” Eonsku said, “said,” said, who has beaten Curry in a horse competition, without watching any millions of people on television. “This is where I wanted to be. … It changes the scenario that people see what we are doing.”
There is no rivalry between the two, even though Curry hek Eansku during her rehearsal shooting session on Friday. He bounced him as soon as he shot.
“Trying to apply some pressure, of course,” said Curry.
The reality is that he has been inspiring IenESCU for more than half of his life. INESCU’s family had season tickets for Warriors Game. When he was in the locker room and the tunnel connecting the court, he once gave him a high-five. She was a picture of her as her screennsever.
Years later, when Eansku was acting in Oregon, she was a high-ferving curry’s daughters-who loved her. And on Saturday, INESCU stated that the experience of being such a part of something unique on the all-star stage taught him an important lesson.
“Just keep on trusting yourself,” he said. “You know, 10 years ago, I would never have thought that it is possible. And so being able to come here … it’s a blessing and even the opportunity to be in the same conversation as Steif and is able to see that he is a player and a basketball player and a man is honoring me and wants to come out.”
The competition raised funds for each of his foundations, and when it was over, left with the curry belt – but they both left more than happy.
Curry said, “I don’t know what is going to come out of it, but I and Sabrina talked about how good the opportunity is to do something that has never been done in our game before,” said Curry. “And for him to have an appearance at this level, it is going to do a lot to inspire the next generation of young boys and girls who want to compete and see ourselves in one of us. Wherever it goes from there, we know that we can actually plant our flag as doing something special.”
