Backhannon, W.VA – Applications are being accepted for the 17th Annual West West Virginia scholar program.

WVRC Media, the original company of Metronews, is partnered with West Virginia Wesley College and others, which provides scholarship to a high school junior in the state.
The four -year scholarship value is approximately $ 160,000 and includes tuition, fees, and in Bakhanon in West Virginia Wesley in the room and board.
John Waltz, vice -president of the entry into Vesleyian, said that the part of the application includes an essay part, where students can share their stories that they want to live and continue to live in West Virginia.
He said, “We can tell every student completely that we find students in them.
Waltz said that there is grade matter, but students also have to score well in their community and participate in additional activities. He said that many talented scholarship winners have gone to do great work in the state.
“We see some of them working around the state, serving doctors, lawyers and in public service in various places.
Waltz said that students who apply can also be considered for other awards and admission to Vesley.
“When a student is applied, they are actually applied for admission.
The deadline for applying for the West Virginia scholar program is 28 April.
Fifteen finalists will be announced in May. Each finalist will go through an individual interview process and a review by sponsors. The winner will be announced in June.
