Finally, Joe Manchin quickly made up his mind. West Virginia is notorious for eliminating senator decisions and transferring ideas. This may disappoint the closest to those people, but it also allowed them to consider all possibilities.
This was the specialty that made him the final deal maker. Their driving vitality is always to believe that he can get all the parties together to make a compromise. This is a healthy approach to effective governance, and it is unfortunately, also out of the sink over time.
Manchin had already said that he would not run again for the Senate, and he spent recent months considering for a third party presidential presidency. He said that he would make up his mind after Super Tuesday’s primary elections in 16 states on March 5, but instead he announced his decision last Friday. He is not running for the President.
“In a long game, perhaps we can make a third party viable when he has a process and opportunity, but right now it’s very, very challenging and I am not going to be a deal breaker, a spoiled, whatever you want to call it.”
The deal manufacturer, Manchin, did not want to be a deal breaker, the man who would receive blame in favor of losing in the 2024 presidential election. It is more likely that the one who would vote from Biden and the last thing that Manachin wanted to help Donald Trump to be elected.
But in addition, the no label effort, which is strongly added to Manchin, appears more celestial than the steak. Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan recently resigned as a co-chairman and the organization fought to achieve the ballot access.
A third party run was always going to be a long shot.
I suspect that Manchin had more personal reasons for not walking, and perhaps we will learn more about those when they appear on the talkline later today.
Manchin turned 77 in August, and when he wears his age well, he would still be entering a competition where the age of the leading candidates is an issue. Manchin had to ask himself whether at this level in his life, he wanted to continue – and even wanted to add daily political battles.
The national political field is toxic and tedious. Even at some point which Manchin reaches a point where he was sufficient. Politics has been a life of Manchin since the first selected for the West Virginia House of Delegates in 1982 and he must have been thinking of all other non-political aspects of his life that he has remembered.
His wife, Gayle, was in a serious accident a few weeks ago, when a vehicle slammed the police towards the back of the car, in which she was riding, sending her to the hospital. If that racing vehicle hit his car a second part of a second, he would have been injured very seriously.
Those moments are the most important in life, take stock of it. It is quite possible that Manchin wants to spend more time with his family. The cable channels will probably call him to weigh him on day issues. He says that he still wants to continue advocating political middle with the US through the US, which is run by daughter, Heather Manchin. And perhaps he is just more for fishing, which he likes to do.
It is difficult to imagine Manchin, just disappear. His history shows that he will be busy and involved. Many politicians cannot leave the power and reputation of the office, leaving them to lose the election or die in the office. Nor is an attractive option.
After a lifetime in politics, Manchin can chart his future.
