The OPA-Loka Police and Miami-Dad Fire Rescue Units responded to the scene of the accident in the field of Northwest 27th Avenue and Til Street just before 8 pm on Friday night.
The family identified the child as a 9 -year -old Event Friszer.
Paramedics airlifted the boy at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in an unknown condition.
The victim’s aunt Shamika Bojman spoke with 7news from outside the hospital.
“A call came from my sister that my nephew was killed, and I reached here. It is 9 years old for him, it’s crazy, ”he said.
The witnesses told 7news that the boy was crossing the road on his bicycle when he was killed.
7news cameras captured a Miami-Dad transit bus at the scene with a torn windshield.
However, the police have not confirmed that it was a bus or any other vehicle that killed the child.
Police have closed a part of the Northwest 27th Avenue south, while they continue to investigate the accident.
